Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan had a meeting with Michael Dickerson, Chargé d'Affairi of the US Embassy on Friday, and with a delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (Amcham Romania), one of the most active business organizations in the country. At the meeting at the Victoria Palace, members of the government team were also present: Mihai Jurca, the head of the Chancellery, Dragoș Hotea, Secretary of State, and Raul Gutin, State Councilor.

“The role of the meeting was to identify concrete ways of strengthening and diversifying economic cooperation in the bilateral relations between Romania and the United States, in an economic and geopolitical context in which the strategic partnership and investments play an important role,” It is mentioned in a press release published on the Government's website.
The representatives of AMCHAM, a organization that brings together over 600 companies from over 30 economic fields, have expressed support for recently launched tax reforms, emphasizing their importance for macroeconomic stability.
American companies have also highlighted the need for a predictable and stable political climate, to support the maintenance and attracting of new investments.

“The discussions held during the meeting targeted a series of key areas for economic development: administration digitization, health system, absorption of European funds, agricultural industry, as well as support for Romania's access to the organization for economic cooperation and development (OECD). transmitted the representatives of the Government.
Prime Minister Bolojan reaffirmed the government's commitment to the private environment. He also thanked Amcham and the US Embassy for supporting Romania's efforts to join the Visa Waiver program, a measure that would facilitate trade and mobility between the two countries.
Amcham representatives informed the Executive about future economic events and delegates of American investors interested in the Romanian market.
