Fabric softener can be used not only for its intended purpose.
Its softening and antistatic properties are useful in a variety of everyday situations.
Here are 5 proven ways to make cleaning and caring for things easier.
1. Streak-free glass and mirror cleaner
- Mix 1 part conditioner and 4-5 parts warm water.
- Wipe windows or mirrors with a sponge soaked in the solution, then polish with a dry microfiber cloth.
The air conditioner eliminates static electricity, so dust does not settle back, and the surface remains perfectly clean and streak-free.
2. Floor cleaning additive
- For 5-6 liters of warm water, add 0.5-1 cap of conditioner.
- The floors are easier to clean, after drying there are no streaks left, and the surface does not accumulate dust longer due to the antistatic effect. The floor will not be slippery.
3. Freshener for leather shoes and accessories
- Apply a small amount of undiluted conditioner to a soft cloth and wipe down leather shoes, bags or jackets.
- The product will gently clean the surface, add a slight shine, soften the skin and disguise minor abrasions. After the procedure, remove any residue with a dry cloth.
4. Ironing assistant
- Mix 400 ml of water, 2 tbsp in a spray bottle. l. conditioner and 2 tbsp. l. table vinegar.
- Lightly spray heavily wrinkled or dry fabrics (bed linen, shirts) before ironing.
The fabric will become more pliable, iron out easier, and the vinegar will help eliminate possible odors.
5. Ant repeller
- Wipe the insect paths (plinths, window sills) with a cloth soaked in undiluted conditioner.
- A strong floral scent can repel ants and cause them to look for other routes.
Test any solution on a small, inconspicuous area before using it on the entire surface, especially for colored and delicate materials. Do not use these methods on technical fabrics or some types of suede.
