The section for judges of the Superior Council of the Magistracy announces that the steps have begun for the consultation of judges, following the crisis in the judiciary triggered after the Recorder documentary.

Thus, on December 17, representatives of the professional associations of judges, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Justice, were invited to the headquarters of the Superior Council of the Magistracy to debate current issues, such as the delegation, secondment, transfer of judges and consequences on their activity in court panels; the perception of the independence of the judiciary; the causes that influence the duration of judicial proceedings in criminal matters, respectively the issue of the prescription of criminal liability; salaries of judges and their service pensions; the volume of activity and the legislative and administrative causes that generated its increase and the need to regulate the activity of judges, but also the freedom of expression of judges.

At the same time, the professional body of judges will be consulted on current issues in the judicial system, through an internal online questionnaire to be answered by December 18.

Finally, on December 19, the data and resulting conclusions will be centralized and analyzed, and then they will be presented publicly.
