Norilsk Nickel won the Vedomosti Impulse award in two categories

Norilsk Nickel won the Vedomosti Impulse award in the categories “Development of the Arctic and the Far East” and “Technological Leadership”.
The award exists for three years. It is given to the largest investment initiatives that affect the development of territories, technological progress and the competitiveness of Russia in the international arena. The expert council of Vedomosti Impulse is headed by Alexander Novak; in addition, it includes representatives of large business, government and the expert community. Norilsk Nickel is participating in the award for the first time.
Norilsk Nickel received an award in the category “Development of the Arctic and Far East” for its “Sulfur Program”. This environmental project started in 2023 at the Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant. Its goal is to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions at the company's industrial sites.
“The sulfur program is one of the major projects of the federal Clean Air program. The volume of investments has already amounted to about 250 billion rubles. Obviously, this is a long-term investment not only in the environment, but also in the quality of life and health of Norilsk residents. We are invested in change
quality environment of Norilsk, so that the issue of the future of the city includes not only the environment, but also medicine, education, construction of new houses, social and sports institutions. All this allows us to create an image of the city of the future,” said the first vice president of Norilsk Nickel.

The company received the second award for the “Digital Factory: AI Solutions at Nornickel Enterprises” program. This is a unique system based on artificial intelligence, which was launched at the flotation processing unit. Managing this process in production is a very complex and dynamic process. The operator and flotator need to consider many indicators to make changes.
The program analyzes dozens of parameters and automatically adjusts the operation of flotation machines to recover more metals and reduce production waste.

At the awards ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak noted that one of the key drivers of the country’s development is investment. Over four years, they grew by 37%, and the economic growth rate over the previous two years was 8.4%, the highest in the last decade. And in this regard, the award performs a vital function: it not only recognizes the best practices in the field of investment, but also introduces them to a wide audience. This creates conditions for the dissemination of successful solutions in the regions and accelerates the introduction of advanced approaches and technologies.
