Ukraine Could Use New Weapon That Paralyzes Infrastructure Without Causing Explosions and Visible Destruction

According to the publication Defense Express, the Ukrainian forces would have started using a new type of weapon capable of paralyzing energy systems without physically destroying them. A scenario that, if confirmed, would mark a major change in strategy.

Panic among Russian troops: “graphite bombs” appear
In the Donetsk region, which is partially under Russian occupation, the first reactions have already appeared. The Russian military claims that, during the previous evening, Ukraine would have used drones equipped with so-called “graphite bombs”. As evidence, pictures of unusually shaped ammunition were shared.
According to reports in the Russian press, these devices would act by causing mass short circuits, completely blocking the operation of electrical networks.
How does the weapon that shuts off power but doesn't destroy buildings work
Experts explain that a “graphite bomb” is usually an aerial cluster munition that releases dozens of submunitions containing fine filaments of graphite.
The effect is subtle but devastating: these filaments create short circuits in electrical installations, knocking equipment out of service without causing explosions or visible destruction. In other words, infrastructure can be neutralized without razing cities to the ground and without civilian casualties.
An old technology, brought back to the fore
Far from being an absolute novelty, this technology has been used effectively in the past. During the Gulf War conflict, coalition forces used such weapons in Iraq, managing to disable up to 85% of the country's energy system.
The result: a rapid shutdown of critical infrastructure without massive surface destruction.
Question marks: new weapon or rushed interpretations?
The analysis of the debris captured in the images led to the hypothesis that the Ukrainian drones of type FP-1 or FP-2, developed by the Fire Point company, would have been equipped with a new type of warheads.
However, there is currently no official confirmation of the use of such ammunition. Specialists warn that some of the elements observed could, in reality, be simple drone components, misinterpreted.
Chain strikes on Russian targets
In parallel, Ukraine continues its offensive on Russian strategic objectives. Ukrainian drones recently struck the Admiral Grigorovich frigate in the port of Novorossisk, as well as the Sivash offshore drilling platform.
The ship, one of the key pieces of the Russian fleet, is capable of launching Kalibr cruise missiles — weapons frequently used in attacks on Ukrainian cities. The frigate is part of the Burevestnik class.
