Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan reacted on Monday evening, in an interview with B1TV, to the accusations of the PSD leader, Sorin Grindeanu, who said that businessmen advise the Government. “I do not know exactly what it refers to, but I can tell you where there is the only working group at least at the moment that is thought by Deputy Prime Minister Anastasiu for the performance indicators of state -owned companies,” said PNL Prime Minister and leader Ilie Bolojan.

“Several managers of companies in the private sector, experts who master elements of economy, have voluntarily offered to counsel the government on establishing measurable and specific performance indicators to make the management of state companies better than we currently have it,” said Bolojan.

Bolojan wants to resort to managers from the private sector for the re -industrialization of Romania

Moreover, the prime minister said that he also seeks to benefit from “contribution from the private sector in sectors in which he does not master all things”.

“For example, I will form a working group for the reindustrialization of Romania to support us to lower our commercial deficit. This working group will obviously be made up of managers from the private sector who have good experience in the field, who have generated businesses who already have an extension potential, to advise us how to do things better because they know better than we do these things.

This does not mean, I emphasize that such a group or the one that Mr. Anastasiu formed will come up with proposals that interfere or destroy state companies or interfere in policies to create some direct commercial advantages, ”added the prime minister.

According to him, the government should use both the expertise in the public and the private sector to come up with the best possible public policies to solve the problems, such as the administration of state companies.

“Think about that Romania has an important number of state companies that have an important effect in the economy. Any improvement of their management can lower the price at electricity. It can bring you an additional profit in the company that will either be transferred to the state budget or to be used for investments to improve the company's indicators in the coming years, which will ensure the energy independence.”

PSD leader's accusations: “It's illegal”

The interim president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, said on Monday that there is an informal working group, made up of “private counselors”. The PSD chief says that if the group does not cease its activity, it will make a complaint.

“I understand that there is an informal group of private counselors who advise the government, which is illegal. If this continues, I am in a position to make a complaint. There are people from transport companies that I know had an interest in bankruptcy,” said Sorin Grindeanu on Monday in a discussion with journalists.

Contacted by Hotnews, Mihai Jurca, the head of Ilie Bolojan's chancellery, said he has no knowledge of the existence of an informal working group. For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister on Reform issues Dragoș Anastasiu said that he has not yet been able to talk to Sorin Grindeanu to understand what he refers to, but he will be able to offer a point of view after clarifying the situation. Anastasiu added that he and other colleagues in the government had meetings and consultations with organizations and representatives of the business environment.

The accusation made by the PSD president comes shortly after, in a press conference, he criticized the measures taken by Prime Minister Bolojan saying that they are populists.

Grindeanu said that Ilie Bolojan is trying to repair the deficiency by PR actions: “You know that if we are talking about acts only of PR, from which we talk about the price of mineral water from the government and the drivers that others have, yes, maybe the drivers can be reduced, but we do not restore the deficit with …”.

The PSD leader also says that the Social Democrats have not entered the government to exit and that the party is a partner “in everything that means these reductions of members in the administrative councils, of allowances in the board of directors, of combinations of institutions that have no purpose”.
