The Higher School of Economics will develop a new network of public transport routes for Krasnoyarsk. The corresponding contract was signed today based on the results of competitive procedures, the mayor’s office reported.
Specialists famous throughout the country National Research University will carry out scientific work. Its result will be a package of documents necessary for planning regular passenger transportation. A ready-made route system will also be developed that corresponds to the development of urban transport infrastructure.
“Scientists will have to analyze the existing scheme of public transport routes, and then adjust it taking into account the territories annexed to Krasnoyarsk, as well as metro tram lines. New schemes need to be developed for tRamways, trolleybuses, buses and electric buses. Routes must comply with all applicable regulations. The specialists will use the entire arsenal of existing methods and technologies in their work – computer modeling, sociological research, forecasting transport demand, field research of passenger flows and others,” the transport department said.
The work will be directly carried out by the structural unit of the National Research University Higher School of Economics – Institute of Economics, Transport and Transport Policy. Specialists already have experience in such work in many cities of Russia: Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Tyumen, Ufa, Krasnodar, Nalchik, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Chelyabinsk agglomerations.
The work for Krasnoyarsk must be completed by the end of September 2026.
