A resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was convicted of stealing a pension of a deceased acquaintance

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the court found guilty of the theft of a 43-year-old resident of the Kansky district, who spent a pension of his deceased 70-year-old acquaintance.

The crime was committed at the end of 2022. It was established that the attacker came in parting with the deceased and accidentally saw a passport with a bank card. Knowing that the payment was charged monthly to the pensioner, he decided to abduct the card.

“The defendant waited for the day of receipt of money, about 14 thousand rubles, and for three days lived at someone else's expense, acquiring alcohol and products. The good mood of the spirit even inspired him in one of the stores to pay for the debt of the deceased comrade. After a rampant life at someone else's expense, the man burned the map in the furnace to get rid of the evidence, ”said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

But in March 2023, representatives of the Pension Fund branch announced the police about the strange disappearance of money from the account of the deceased. Law enforcement officers were able to restore the picture of the crime and quickly detained the previously convicted resident of the Kansky district. For theft of money, the court sentenced him to 2 years of conditional imprisonment with a probation period for 1.5 years.
