In Krasnoyarsk, at the Siberian Federal University, representatives of the scientific community and educational institutions from Moscow to the Far East gathered at the conference of the Russian Military Historical Society on the development of state textbooks on regional history
One of the objectives of the conference is to improve the quality of preparation of regional history textbooks and exchange experience with teams of authors whose textbooks have already passed the state examination. A broad discussion of issues will make it possible to form a unified approach to the creation of history textbooks – as experts under the guidance of relevant government agencies see it.
In his greeting, the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kravtsov, noted that large-scale work is underway in Russia to create a unified educational space, and one of the key areas is the creation of unified state textbooks. Last year, the development of unified textbooks on the history of Russia and general history was completed, and now special attention is paid to the preparation of textbooks for the course “History of our region.”
“Together with the history of Russia, we are creating a single value space for schoolchildren and graduates of general education organizations. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, from September 1, a curriculum dedicated to the course “History of our region” is being implemented in grades 5 and 7. The training course is provided with a collection of teaching materials, which does not remove the issue of developing and publishing a single textbook from the agenda. A corresponding digital platform operates in the region on the basis of the regional Institute for Educational Development to help teachers,” said Deputy Minister of Education of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Artem Petenev.
At the opening of the conference, Evgeny Garin, chairman of the regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society, reserve colonel, director of the Military Engineering Institute, emphasized the importance of creating a unified historical concept and the role of history teachers in shaping the consciousness of young people.
