Nazarovskaya GRES will equip its pipes with an emissions monitoring system

December 10 11:35

Nazarovskaya GRES, as part of a large-scale environmental modernization, has begun implementing a project to equip chimneys No. 1, 2, 3, 4 with an automatic emission control system (AEC).

The project to ensure continuous measurement and accounting of atmospheric emissions is carried out in accordance with federal legislation and the Plant Environmental Efficiency Improvement Program (PEEP). From May to August 2025, a pre-project inspection of facilities was carried out at the enterprise. Basic technical solutions have already been prepared, and the development of design documentation is nearing completion.

For the DT‑2 chimney, which will be the first object for the implementation of SAKV, the equipment specification has been agreed upon – production and delivery are planned for spring 2026, and installation and commissioning of the online monitoring system is until the end of autumn. The inspection of chimneys No. 1 and No. 3 will begin next summer. Work on pipe No. 4 will begin in 2027 and will be completed by the end of 2028.

SAKV will provide round-the-clock automatic monitoring of emissions with measurement of concentrations of marker substances: nitrogen oxide and dioxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, suspended particles and other parameters of exhaust gases. By the way, it should be noted that this system has successfully proven itself at other SGC enterprises. Last week, specialists from Rosprirodnazdor, having inspected the correct operation of the SAKV at the Krasnoyarsk CHPP, confirmed the reliability and objectivity of the data received.

“The introduction of an automatic emission control system is an important step towards the sustainable development of our enterprise. The system will give us the opportunity not only to comply with regulatory requirements, but also to quickly respond to any changes in the environmental situation. We are convinced that this project will be a significant contribution to improving air quality and the well-being of city residents,” said Dmitry Morozov, General Director of Nazarovskaya State District Power Plant.

Let us remind you that this year Nazarovskaya GRES received a Comprehensive Environmental Permit (IEP) issued by Rosprirodnadzor. In accordance with this permit, a set of measures has been developed to modernize the station’s equipment. The implementation of the planned measures will significantly improve the environmental situation – the projected reduction in the volume of solid substance emissions from the Nazarovo State District Power Plant will be 47.2%.
