Poland is working on an agreement with the US regarding the import of LNG, which is to be sent to Ukraine and Slovakia, Reuters reported, citing anonymous sources close to the matter.

Poland is working on an agreement on the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the USA, which will be supplied to Ukraine and Slovakia.
In the opinion of two sources interviewed by the agency, the agreement may further strengthen ties between the European Union and the American energy sector.
One source indicated that officials expect to announce a joint declaration on increasing imports after the parties meet at the transatlantic energy conference in Athens later this week.
One of the sources indicated that talks will then begin on the terms of deliveries to Slovakia.
The cable indicated that informants estimated that the potential volumes of gas transmitted through Poland could amount to as much as 4 billion cubic meters to 5 billion cubic meters per year, which is approximately the same as the annual gas consumption in Slovakia.
It was indicated that the US Department of Energy did not respond to a request for comment, and the Polish Ministry of Energy refused to comment. (PAP Business)
