The secret of autumn garden treatment – until October 30: 500 g per bucket of water and in a sprayer – no diseases or pests

For autumn spraying of trees, bushes, flowers and perennials in the garden, use a solution of available products: iron sulfate and urea. They can be used separately, but mixing significantly increases the efficiency of processing and allows maximum protection of plants from diseases and pests, says the author of the Zen channel “Lucky Garden” (16+).

In the fall, it is iron sulfate that is recommended, not copper, because of its safe concentration. Excess copper can be toxic, while iron, when used once, is only beneficial for plants.

Iron sulfate effectively prevents and fights numerous fungal diseases: scab, powdery mildew, various types of rot, including moniliosis of stone fruits. In addition, it helps get rid of mosses and lichens and enriches the soil with iron, which is especially important when chlorosis occurs.

This drug acts by contact: it does not penetrate the trunks, leaves or sap of plants, therefore it is safe compared to systemic chemicals. For maximum efficiency, it is advisable to spray in dry, windless weather so that the solution remains on the surface of the plants longer.

The second component is urea (carbamide). This is a powerful agent that, in high concentrations at low temperatures, acts not as a fertilizer, but as an antiseptic: it destroys persistent sources of infections and effectively fights wintering pests, including ticks and scale insects. Thus, urea simultaneously functions as a fungicide and an insecticide.

Prepare the solution in a plastic or glass container. Since iron sulfate does not dissolve well in cold water, use warm water. Determine the concentration of the solution depending on the condition of the plants last season: if the plants were severely affected, make it more concentrated, if not so, make it weaker.

The minimum recommended proportions for autumn spraying are 300 g of iron sulfate and 300 g of urea per 10 liters of water. In case of severe infection, the dose can be increased to 500 g of each component per 10 liters of water.

Treat the crown, branches and trunk circles. It is advisable to perform this procedure on all fruit trees, berry bushes, ornamental and perennial plants. The prepared solution is not stored, so it should be used immediately.
