The domestic UAZ Hunter was converted into a military SUV for the North Military District. Mad Max's War machine was developed by engineers from Engels and called the new product “Varan”.
The car was modernized based on the wishes of the military. They installed a turbocharged diesel engine with 150 horsepower and adapted it to the original gearbox. The suspension was lifted, reinforced shock absorbers, mud tires and snorkels were installed to protect the engine from water and dust. We attached a bracket for a machine gun, pockets for machine guns, RPGs and drinking water tanks.
“Varan” is 90% made from domestic parts. According to the designers, the vehicle is universal: it can be used both in a combat zone and in civilian life. Now they want to upgrade the SUV even more – modify the armor, enlarge the body so that there is room for body armor and other things.
