Is Donald Trump's USA a reliable ally? Poles are determined


A few days ago, the American authorities published the new US National Security Strategy, a document setting out the country's foreign and security policy priorities. It emphasized, for example, that Washington's policy on Europe should treat, among others, as a priority: returning to strategic stability in relations with Russia, enabling Europe to take responsibility for its own defense and preventing further NATO expansion.
The strategy calls for a break with current foreign policy in many fundamental aspects and changes the main focus of foreign policy from competition with China to internal security and designating the Western Hemisphere as the American sphere of influence. He refers to the 19th-century Monroe Doctrine, the update of which is to “supplement Trump.”

Poles are harsh on Trump's USA
Rp.pl, together with SW Research, asked the survey participants whether – in their opinion – the USA under Donald Trump's government is a reliable ally.
26.4% answered “Yes”. subjects. “No” and 54.4 percent. people. 19.2 percent respondents have no opinion on this matter.
– Respondents aged 35 to 49 (59%) and those with basic vocational education (58%) are more likely to doubt American credibility. This opinion is especially popular among respondents whose income exceeds PLN 7,000 net (63%) and those living in towns with a population of over 200,000. up to 499 thousand people (62%) – Piotr Zimolzak, vice-president of the management board of the research agency SW Research, comments in an interview with the website on the results of the study.

Three key US strategies
The US National Security Strategy is a document setting the priorities of US foreign and security policy. Its preparation is ordered by Congress – it is the first of three expected documents intended to set the directions of US policy.
The next steps are to be the National Defense Strategy prepared by the Pentagon and the Global Posture Review, i.e. a revision of the deployment of US forces in the world. Their final effect may be changes in the deployment of US troops, including in Europe, where a reduction in forces is expected. However, according to President Donald Trump's promises, this will not apply to Poland.
