A 70-year-old Lesosibirsk resident illegally kept a gun, cartridges and gunpowder at home

Illegal weapons and ammunition were discovered and seized by police from a 70-year-old resident of Lesosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory.

It was established that the man kept metal cans of gunpowder, a double-barreled smoothbore shotgun, as well as its barrel and 60 rounds of ammunition in his barn on the property.

The pensioner explained that the weapon, which was not registered in the manner prescribed by law, was inherited from his deceased grandfather.

An administrative protocol was drawn up in relation to the Lesosibirsk resident under Art. 20.10 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Illegal manufacture, acquisition, sale, transfer, storage, transportation, transportation, carrying or use of weapons, main parts of firearms and ammunition for weapons”, the issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved.

Police officers urge citizens to promptly report to the internal affairs authorities about any known fact of illegal trafficking in weapons and ammunition.
