In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, specialists from Rosseti Sibir found more than 13 thousand power transmission towers with illegal communication lines

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, power engineers of the branch of Rosseti Sibir – Krasnoyarskenergo are conducting raids during which they detect illegal fiber-optic communication lines (FOCL) on power transmission lines (PTL). Since the beginning of the year, experts have identified 13,211 towers with illegal fiber optics.

The company notes that some telecom operators unauthorizedly install cable hangers on power line supports, without taking into account their technical condition. This is a direct violation of electrical safety requirements and building codes: the dimensions to the wires and ground, the rules for laying and fastening are not observed. This can lead to problems during planned or emergency restoration work on power lines. In addition, the additional load on the equipment creates risks for the quality of power supply.

Krasnoyarsk power engineers constantly inspect the routes of overhead power lines: they take photographs, measure the height of the suspensions and the distances to the wires and the ground surface. For each case, acts are drawn up and a single register is maintained.

Let us remind you that starting from 2022, new rules for access to infrastructure have been in force, allowing networks of telecom operators to be placed on power transmission line supports on equal terms and at uniform tariffs. To do this, the company must apply for the use of supports. After this, a project is prepared, technical conditions and dimensions according to electrical safety standards are agreed upon, a contract is concluded, and permission to work is issued. After installation, an acceptance certificate must be drawn up.

The Krasnoyarskenergo branch calls on telecom operators and contractors to legalize the non-contractual placement of communication cables and to carry out any work on power transmission line supports only if there is a contract, permit and relevant electrical safety groups. The application can be submitted through the official website of Rosseti Digital; by email [email protected] or through the Rosseti Digital contact center: +7-495-710‑43‑34.
