Zelensky said that Minister of Defense Rustem Umarov and commanders reported him about the situation at the front.
“Russian assault operations are ongoing, and our forces continue all the necessary combat activity. The hottest situation in the Donetsk region, especially the Pokrovsky direction. We continue active actions in the Kursk and Belgorod regions – this is the protection of Sumshchina, this is the protection of the Kharkiv region, our active and effective protection,” the president said.
According to him, since the beginning of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region in August 2024, the Russian army lost more than 63 thousand people killed and wounded there.
“Also, our forces managed to significantly replenish the exchange fund for Ukraine. The more hostilities are carried out into the enemy, the more this ensures safety to our communities,” Zelensky emphasized.
He noted that “the Russians are not giving signals about the ceasefire and they are not yet ready to end the war.”
“Thus, all our forms of pressure, all our work with partners for the sake of pressure on Russia is what is absolutely necessary. The pressure convinces. The pressure on the battlefield. The pressure in the economy, and for this, is sanctions. Pressure in politics. I want to thank everyone who supports Ukraine,” Zelevsky said.
