“At home” on a skyscraper in Berlin. Axel Springer celebrated the release of Hamas hostages

After 7 p.m., an inscription was displayed on the building of the Axel Springer headquarters in Berlin, symbolically expressing joy at the return of Hamas hostages to Israel and grief for those who died in captivity. A short text “at home” was displayed on the building's facade in English and Hebrew.

In this way, the publishing house wants to send a clear signal: hatred of Jews, Hamas terror and suffering have no chance. Peace, solidarity and understanding will prevail.
Similar screenings were organized over the last two years. Already in November 2023, the Axel Springer group drew attention to the fate of over 200 hostages kidnapped by Hamas by displaying their photos on the facade of a skyscraper. Below them was a demand for their “immediate release”.
Hamas released the hostages
On Monday, Hamas released the last 20 living hostages and handed them over to the Red Cross.
According to the media, those released were: Matan Angerst, Gali Berman, Ziw Berman, Elkana Bohbot, Rom Braslawski, Nimrod Cohen, Ariel Cunio, Dawid Cunio, Ewjatar Dawid, Guy Gilboa-Dalal, Maksim Herkin, Eitan Horn, Segew Kalfon, Bar Kuperstein, Omri Miran, Eitan Mor, Josef-Haim Ohana, Alon Ohel, Awinatan Or, Matan Zangauker.
They are the last surviving hostages from a group of 251 people kidnapped during Hamas' attack on Israel two years ago. The release of 20 Israelis was part of the first phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in force since Friday. Hamas was also expected to release the bodies of 28 abductees who died in captivity, but so far it has only handed over four bodies.
As agreed, in exchange for the release of the kidnapped, Israel released 1,968 Palestinian prisoners on Monday.
