Temporary buildings are being built at Norilsk airport for the period of its reconstruction

In the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, temporary buildings began to be erected at the Norilsk airport for the period of its reconstruction. The organization of work is carried out by specialists from the Norilsk Nickel project office.

Work is underway on the station square on an area of ​​5 thousand square meters. meters. A work camp for builders, areas for storing materials have already been created there, and the foundation pit for the foundations of future buildings is almost ready. The buildings will ensure passenger comfort and maintain uninterrupted operation of the air harbor during the modernization of the polar airport. The temporary complex consists of three one-story pavilions, which will be connected by warm galleries. Each building will be able to accommodate more than 350 people – two flights at a time.

“After reconstruction, the Norilsk air terminal will become more modern, comfortable, and safe for the residents of Norilsk and all of Taimyr. In the arrivals building, passengers will be served, luggage will be issued, there will also be a departure check-in hall and a long waiting area, including during flight delays due to bad weather,” said Sergei Shishkunov, Deputy Director for Construction and Head of the Project Office for the Implementation of Comprehensive Measures for the Development of Norilsk at the Krasnoyarsk Representative Office of Norilsk Nickel.

Work on the foundations of temporary structures is planned to be completed in October-November, and the laying of utilities will be completed by the end of November. Load-bearing and enclosing structures of block-modular buildings are manufactured by Krasnoyarsk specialists. Sergei Shishkunov emphasized that the materials were selected in such a way as to withstand the conditions of the Far North, were durable and environmentally friendly.

Let us remind you that in mid-September the order at Norilsk airport was changed baggage claim and exit from the arrivals area. Passport control is carried out on the plane or when leaving it. The new baggage claim hall is located next to the station square.
