He added that Poland is facing cyber attacks every day, mainly from Russia. – Last year, over 100,000 were recorded in our country. incidents. I believe that artificial intelligence can be our shield in this new battlefield and give us a real advantage – he emphasized.
The president noted that Poland is actively involved in the development of new technologies. He reminded about the initiatives of Polish startups, the participation of native scientists in international projects and about the law signed in August creating the Fund for the Development of Berveral Technology. During the speech, he indicated that the UN Security Council should dominate the development rules for using AI.
– In order for artificial intelligence to serve peace and development, it must be based not only on technology, but also on transparent principles, in line with human ethics and international law – he emphasized. In his opinion, you need a forum where countries will exchange experiences in the implementation of AI, also in the area of defense. – The Security Council may be a leader in the development of rules on the use of artificial intelligence in armed conflicts He added.

The position of Poland turned out to be convergent with most European countries, but it differed from the US approach. Advisor for technology of US President Donald Trump, Michael Katsios, opposed excessive regulations and international centralization of principles. – We reject all attempts to create global artificial intelligence management – he said.
According to the US representative, the future of AI should be based on the wild, innovation and responsibility of citizens, and not on bureaucratic structures. Katsios also admitted that improper use of artificial intelligence systems can destabilize the world and strengthen the authoritarian regimes.
The debate in the UN Security Council showed a clear division between countries seeking international regulation and those that prefer to focus on free development of technology.
