The representatives of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (gold) announced on Monday that they have filed a criminal complaint at the General Prosecutor's Office against the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) due to the fact that they do not organize the elections for the Capital City Hall, although the legal term has expired two weeks ago.

“Today, Gold has filed a criminal denunciation at the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice against the representatives of the Government and the AEP, for abuse in the service and preventing the exercise of electoral rights. These intentionally blocked the organization of the elections for the Capital City Hall, although the mandate of Nicușor Dan ceased on May 26,” led by George Simion.

“The denunciation was transmitted electronically, because, by the decision of the General Assembly of Prosecutors, the relations with the public and the audiences are suspended, and all the notifications are registered exclusively online,” they say.

“In a democratic state, the right of Romanians to choose the mayor cannot be ignored or postponed. We will go to the end. The law must be respected!”, Says the gold representatives.

“I came here today to the Prosecutor's Office next to the High Court to file a criminal complaint against the prime minister, against the Minister of Internal Affairs and against the president of the Permanent Electoral Authority. As you know, we live in a rule of law, in a European state where the law must be respected by each of us, but especially by the Date of the Law. Finding the vacancy of the position of mayor, the Government was obliged to organize general elections ”, they said, in a video recording filmed in front of the General Prosecutor's Office, attached to the statement sent on Facebook.
