Frost code yellow in half the country until Monday. Temperatures drop to -20 degrees / ANM announces what is to come in the coming days

On Saturday morning, meteorologists issued yellow code frost alerts, valid in 22 counties and the city of Bucharest, until Monday morning, at 10:00 a.m. At the same time, the ANM announces that the weather will be particularly cold until January, when snow is expected and ice will form in some places.
The first code yellow alert issued by ANM is valid until tomorrow evening, at 20:00, in most of Moldova. Here, particularly low temperatures (on average, 7…9 degrees lower than normal for the date) with maximum values that will generally fall between -10 and -5 degrees.
The night will be cold so the minimum temperatures will fall between -14 and -10 degrees.

From tomorrow, from 20.00, the yellow frost alert extends to half the country.
Targeted are counties from Moldova, Dobrogea, Muntenia, east and south-east Transylvania. Here, the weather will be frosty, the minimum temperatures will be between -16 and -9 degrees, lower in the north of Moldova to around -20 degrees.

What's the weather like the next few days
At the same time, ANM issued a weather information of particularly cold weather, frost especially during the nights and mornings, intensification of wind, hail and ice, blizzard snow, valid until February 4.
Thus, the weather will be particularly cold, especially in the extra-Carpathian regions. In the morning and night there will be frost at the beginning in Moldova, then also in Dobrogea, eastern Transylvania, Muntenia and isolated in Oltenia and southern Banat, so the minimum temperatures will generally be between -20 and -10 degrees, and in the north of Moldova, the frost will persist throughout the days, with maximums falling between -16 and -8 degrees.
Locally and temporarily there will be quantitatively weak precipitation, predominantly in the form of snow and in some places sleet and ice will form.
The wind will show local intensification in the eastern and southern regions with speeds generally of 40…45 km/h, amplifying the feeling of cold, and from the evening of Sunday until Monday morning in the southeast of Oltenia, in the south, center and east of Muntenia and in Dobrogea, the snow will temporarily be blizzard.
