US President Donald Trump threatened to unleash the Defense Department of Defense, amplifying tensions related to his efforts to conduct troops in American cities led by Democrats, AFP reports.

The initiative aims to reproduce the operation in the US capital, Washington DC, where the Republican President carried out troops of the National Guard and increased the number of federal agents, causing negative reactions and a new protest on Saturday, which attracted thousands of people.

“Chicago is about to find out why the war department is called,” Trump wrote on Social Truth on Saturday, referring to the new name he set for the Defense Department.

The reaction of the governor

The democratic governor of the state of Illinois, in which the city of Chicago is located, expressed his idignation to the posting of President Trump.

“The President of the United States threatens that he will enter the war with an American city. It is not a joke. It is not normal,” wrote the governor JB Pritzker in a post on the X platform.

“Illinois will not be intimidated by a” Wannabe “dictator,” added JB Pritzker, using an informal English term, generally used in a pejorative sense, who describes a person who aspires to a status or tries to be like someone else.

Donald Trump's post also appears what seems to be an image made with the artificial intelligence in which the president wears a sheriff's hat and the message “I love the smell of deportations in the morning”, a reference to “Apocalypse Now”, a 1979 movie about the Vietnam War. The picture is also written “Chipocalyps Now”, a game of words that refers to the title of the movie and the city of Chicago.

Anti-trump protests

On Saturday, on the streets of Chicago there was a protest against Donald Trump, where the demonstrators displayed banners that wrote “Stop this fascist regime!” And “without Trump, without troops.”

The protest route also passed by Trump Tower in Chicago, and the demonstrators made rude gestures towards the building.

Also on Saturday, in Washington DC, where the troops of the National Guard have been held since Trump declared “criminal emergency” in August, thousands of people crossed the city center and asked for the “occupation”.

The demonstrators in the Capital returned the opposite flag when they passed the national monuments, a gesture that traditionally suggests the presence of an existential danger.

The conduct of troops and federal agents of the current administration, who started in June in Los Angeles, caused appeals in court and protests, and critics describe them as an authoritarian demonstration.
