The headquarters of France Télévisions, France's public television company, was evacuated Saturday afternoon following a bomb threat, the public broadcaster announced in a statement published on the franceinfo website, according to Le Parisien.

“The headquarters of France Télévisions (in Paris, no) has just been evacuated. State services have warned the company of a bomb threat. Police and a canine unit are now on site for checks. The franceinfo broadcast and website are disrupted,” the message said.

At 5:37 p.m., the franceinfo news channel was forced to abruptly end its live program while it was broadcasting news about Ukraine and the “political turmoil involving Volodymyr Zelensky”.

Viewers could hear a siren on set. “We have to interrupt the broadcast because of a bomb threat,” explained presenter Jean-Christophe Galeazzi as those around him rose to their feet.

The station began rebroadcasting the show “True or False”, originally broadcast at 11:00, followed by a cultural segment with an interview with singer Imany.

Meanwhile, at 6:30 p.m., France 2, the main channel of French public television, questioned the possibility of broadcasting the 8:00 p.m. news, as the police checked the headquarters of France Télévisions.

At 7:40 p.m., a shorter edition of the diary was being discussed, about twenty minutes longer than originally planned.

On Saturday 15 November, the BFMTV studio was also evacuated following a bomb threat. Live broadcasts were interrupted for about two and a half hours and replaced by replays, before the situation returned to normal and the program resumed during the evening.
