US President Donald Trump will receive about 24 top technology and business leaders on Thursday, of which the great absentee will be Elon Musk, for an inaugural event organized in the Rose Garden, recently renovated.
The meeting will take place in the form of a one, after a separate event dedicated to artificial intelligence, hosted by the first lady Melania Trump, reports News.ro citing CNBC.
On the list of guests are first-place names such as Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), Tim Cook (Apple), Bill Gates (Microsoft) and Sam Altman (Openai), according to a White House official.
They are joined by Greg Brockman (Openai President), Sergey Brin (Google co-founder), Shyam St. (Technological Director Palantir) and Alexandr Wang (Founder of Scale and leader of a superintelligence team at Meta).
Sundar Pichai (CEO Google), Satya Nadella (Microsoft), Safra Catz (Oracle) and David Limp (Micron Technology) were also invited. David Sacks, investor and presidential counselor on crypto and AI, as well as Jared Isaacman, the founder of Shift4 are also expected.
The event reflects the close, but complicated relationship between the Trump administration and the Big Tech sector in the second presidential term.
Many of the guest directors have lately sought to build better relationships with the administration, announcing projects in line with the objectives of reshorage and development of the new technologies promoted by the White House.
Remarkable is the absence of Elon Musk, CEO Tesla and founder Spacex, who had an advisory role at the beginning of the current administration, but later publicly separated from the president.
