US President Donald Trump, who has never hidden his dislike of his Democratic predecessors, recently took things to another level by placing plaques in the White House reflecting the Republican's views on Joe Biden and Barack Obama, according to AFP.
In the gallery of portraits of former presidents, Biden's photo was replaced with an image of an Autopen, a mechanical device that reproduces signatures.
Placing an image of Autopen instead of Joe Biden is an allusion to the accusations launched by Trump against his Democratic predecessor, who he claimed was so senile that he did not know who signed in his place, writes AFP.
Recently, Trump announced that he was rescinding all presidential executive orders from the former administration that were not directly signed by the Democratic leader, claiming that Biden had not actually authorized the use of the Autopen and risks being indicted for “perjury” if he says otherwise.
On Wednesday, journalists who were allowed access to the area noticed that some new plaques had been added under the portraits. Biden and Obama were portrayed in a negative light.
The inscription below Barack Obama's portrait describes him as “one of the most divisive political figures in American history.” The former Democratic president's other first name, Hussein, is also mentioned, as Trump often does when talking about him, amplifying conspiracy theories about his predecessor's origins.
Biden has been described as “by far the weakest president in American history.”
The plaque also mentions Trump's allegation that the 2020 election was rigged.
Unlike his Democratic predecessors, the current Republican president of the USA is portrayed in a positive manner. Under Trump's portrait it is written that he has resolved eight conflicts in eight months and that he has attracted trillions of dollars in investment to the US.
