“There are things I discussed there,” said President Nicușor Dan when he was asked by a journalist during Wednesday's visit to Cernavoda, if Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan seriously took a resignation from the government.
Ilie Bolojan threatened with resignation during the coalition session in which the PSD opposed the current form of the project regarding the reform of the local administration. The project was postponed for two weeks, and on Tuesday the leaders of the parties forming coalition went to Cotroceni for a discussion with President Nicușor Dan.
Asked on Wednesday if he “said Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan if he took that option to resign,” Nicușor Dan replied: “There are things I discussed there. What can I tell you at the moment is that the coalition works and goes ahead,” according to the transcript published by the Presidential Administration.
The journalist insisted and asked if there is still this possibility of resignation, at which point the president repeated: “The coalition works and goes ahead.”
Bolojan, about the variant of his resignation
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said on Tuesday, in a press conference, that if the agreements are not respected at the time of the Government training, “it means that it is difficult to exercise your position as prime minister.”
He responded in this way, on Tuesday, in the press conference, if he sent to the leaders of the coalition that he would resign in the situation where an agreement on the public administration, a project challenged by the PSD will not be reached.
“I told them that I had an agreement, that we have a governing program on the basis of which I agreed to take this responsibility. It was not a big crowd for the position of prime minister when the Government of Romania was formed, and in order to exercise it, the discount component, including in the administration, and the governmental solidarity are important. They are respected, that is, to respect our agreements and to do the right thing for Romania, it means that it is difficult to exercise this position, otherwise you occupy a position without putting it in the community or for the country, ”replied Ilie Bolojan.
Also questioned if there is now stability in the coalition, Bolojan said that “it will be seen at the censorship motions.”
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan went Monday night in front of the Parliament's plenary to hire the Government's responsibility on five of the six projects in the fiscal package 2, in a context marked by the coalition voltages, after the PSD blocked the package on the public administration reform.
