They discussed the measures adopted by the Government for balancing the budgetary situation, as well as aspects regarding political stability.
“The prime minister has shown that Romania crosses a budgetary crisis that can be exceeded by a coherent set of measures. They aim to reduce state spending, increase budget revenues, as well as prioritizing public investments.
In this regard, the head of the Government stated that other reform measures will follow, meant to ensure better financing and staggering of investments, but also the correction of existing inequities ”.is shown in the statement sent by the Government.
Also, it was also discussed about the positioning of Romania in the current regional context, the relationship with the European Union, the level of military expenses and other external challenges.
“At the discussions, from the Romanian side, the head of the chancellery of the Prime Minister, Mihai Jurca, the Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, and Stefan Nanu, the head of the Romanian State Treasury.
The Romanian Government will continue to seek to maintain the economic stability and strengthen the country's credibility in front of international partners and investors ”ends the cited institution.
In March 2025, Moody's confirmed Romania's rating at “Baa3”, but modified the perspective associated with the rating to “negative”, from “stable”.
“The decision to modify the negative perspective reflects the risk that, in the absence of additional fiscal consolidation measures, the fiscal solidity of Romania will weaken significantly in the coming years.”explains the rating agency.
