“Yesterday, October 18, 2025, around 1:30 p.m., we received a call announcing the slip and visual disappearance of a 29-year-old female person on the western slope of the Piatra Craiului National Park.

Following a video received later, which captured the area where the three tourists from the group of which the person in question was a part, as well as the coordinates transmitted, we realized that we were dealing with a case almost similar to the previous one — also in Brăul de Mijloc (southern part), in winter conditions and very low visibility”. sends Salvamont Zărnești in a post on social networks.

Initially, a team of five mountain rescuers went on the rescue mission, carrying complete medical and technical equipment, prepared for the situation in which we would have found the victim alive.

“Subsequently, a second intervention team was set up, made up of eleven other members of the Salvamont Zărnești Local Public Service, as well as a dispatcher, who permanently maintained contact both with the field teams and with the state institutions involved in the integrated emergency system.

Unfortunately, only the lifeless body of the victim was found, in the La Grote area, on the La Lanțuri route”adds the cited source.

According to the mountain rescuers, the fall, estimated at approximately 250 meters, caused him severe trauma.

The action of extracting the victim was a “classic” one for Piatra Craiului — difficult, exposed and demanding — which we managed to finish around 11:00 p.m.they specify.

The alarm signal raised by the mountain rescuers

In the context of this tragedy, mountain rescuers warn tourists that ““bizarre” tours, taken from a watch or phone track, without proper equipment and real mountain experience, can have tragic consequences.”

“In today's conditions, the necessary equipment should have meant much more than a pair of crampons and a helmet, and a shift team made up of people who have seen each other a few times cannot, realistically speaking, ensure a successful and safe shift.

Careful. Caution. Waiver.

These remain the words we want to convey to all those who choose the mountain in difficult conditions.

We send our condolences to the family and strength to accept what happened, knowing that extremely difficult times are ahead for their loved ones.

May God rest her in peace!”emphasizes Salvamont Brașov.
