President Karol Nawrocki emphasized that he has specific expectations towards Germany, including reparation payments. He estimated that it was the time for the Germans to start treating Poland in partner and assured that he would not let the chancellor Friedrich to treat her as a junior partner.

The president was asked on TV Republika whether he would want to arrange relations with Germany so that they were correct. – Of course. I treat our western neighbors and German Chancellor as partners in the EU and in the North Atlantic Alliance. We have a common border and there are many things we should talk about – replied Nawrocki.

He noted that he had experience in historical diplomacy and talked about very difficult matters with representatives, including German, Ukrainian and Japanese institutions. – Of course, these rules of diplomacy, neighborhood, partnership and implementation of joint tasks must be implemented in an appropriate manner. However, I will not let the German press or German Chancellor treating Poland and Poles as a junior partner – said the president.

– It is probably the time that Germany began to treat Poland as a partner. The President of Poland is not ready to look at the west or our western border as our mentors or teachers at all – he noted.

– We have our specific expectations from the German side. Among them is the payment of reparations for Poland, which Poles are waiting for. Among them is also the issue of our western border – he added.

The president pointed out that Poland and Poles feel like a partner, not a German auxiliary farm. – And in this emotion I am convinced that with the German Chancellor I will be ready to communicate as the president of Poland, Poles, independent, sovereign, proud Polish state – he said.

When asked about relations with the USA and President Donald Trump, Nawrocki emphasized that cooperation with the USA is crucial for Poland in the field of security, as well as in the economic, economic or new technologies.

– The signals that we get from the United States from President Donald Trump are signals that show that our relations will certainly be at the highest level. I deeply believe that Poland will become the leader of the European Union in relations with the United States – emphasized Nawrocki.

Nawrocki was also asked about what gift was given to him from Donald Trump on the occasion of swearing in.
