A surprising survey and a new problem for Donald Trump. “Elon Musk's money is enough.” The billionaire plans sow ferment

– If someone can spoil the plans [Republikanów] Or at least to issue a candidate who has a chance for success, this is Elon Musk because he has motivation and financial resources to achieve this – says Barrett Marson, a republican political strategist from Arizona.
“Elon Musk's money is enough to influence the election result,” says Charlie Gerow, an activist of the Republican Party from Pennsylvania in an interview with Politico.
Democrats rub their hands – they think that America's party Elona Muska can take voters from Republicans in key districts where the results of the election are aligned.
The Democratic Party claims that Musk's plans can threaten the Republicans who are already fighting to maintain seats in next year's supplementary elections.
“I think it will improve the position of democrats, which in my opinion was quite good before 2026,” said Curtis Hertel, chairman of the Democratic Party, Michigan.
Musk was one of the greatest donors of President Donald Trump in the 2024 election, spending hundreds of millions of dollars to help him and other republicans in elections. However, from the time of breaking with the President Musk, he publicly called for candidates in the primaries against the Republicans who voted for the “great, beautiful” budget act “of Trump, and also promised to create their own, third party.
Democrats and Republicans have long complained about the effect caused by third parties – such as the Greens or Libertarians – in even elections in the United States where the fight is fierce. However, none of these two smaller parties can accumulate resources such as Musk.
Christina Bohannan, a democrat from Iowa, who will apply for a mandate for the third time, said that adding another candidate to the group of pretenders can play a potentially decisive role.
– The elections in 2024 were very even. Everything that will change the electoral system by the appearance of candidates from the third party can matter – said Bohannan.
Expert: The American Party will distract part of the Republican base
Musk said that his party could “focus” on winning two to three seats in the Senate and eight to ten seats in the House of Representatives to ensure an impact on legislation.
Heath Mayo, a conservative activist opposing Trump, said that due to this narrow range of target – and special emphasis on attacking Republicans for fiscal irresponsibility – the candidacy of the third party can be a weak point for the Republican party.
– I think it will attract [Musk] Some of the supporters who found their place at the Republican Party Electoral Database – he said.
Musk did not answer Politico's request for commentary sent by e -mail.
Voters regularly overestimate the likelihood of voting or joining the third party. However, the last polls suggest that Americans are at least theoretically open to such a possibility.
According to a survey conducted at the beginning of this month by the Quinnipiac University university, almost half of the voters consider the support of the third party, but only 17 percent. He is interested in the option directed by Musk.

However, according to the survey, this party could attract a disproportionately large number of voters from the Republican Party. Almost three times more supporters of Republicans than Democrats are considering the support of the third party proposed by Musk.
Barrett Marson, a republican political strategist from Arizona, warns that a candidate about libertarian views supported by Musk could attract supporters from both sides.
– Musk's ability to effectively start the third party will largely depend on the specific circles on which he will focus, and the candidates he will put in the elections – said Charlie Gerow, an activist of the Republican party from Pennsylvania.
– You have to look at individual candidates and the program they will start with. There are many factors that will affect whether [Partia Ameryki] will succeed. I think it is difficult to predict the result at this stage because we don't know what really [Elon Musk] He intends to do – he added.
Even if Musk fails to introduce candidates for voting cards, his reluctance to Trump will be painfully felt for the Republicans, who in 2024 enormously benefited from his generosity.
“Ultimately, the democrats are still convinced that these efforts will most likely bring them benefits if they come to fruition,” said Charlie Bailey, chairman of the Democratic Party in Georgia, who is preparing for one of the most fierce Senate campaigns next year.
“I think Elon Musk will not attract supporters of democrats or many independent voters,” said Bailey. “It will probably attract most of the right -wing supporters of Republicans. I don't think these voters could be conquered for us at all.”
