The Secretary General of the PSD, Paul Stănescu, said on Monday that a coalition meeting is needed to discussed the measures that “affect more than the case” local administrations, public investments and vulnerable Romanians, mentioning that the PSD must decide urgently if they still remain in government.
“The easiest thing would have been to stay in the opposition. But, in the past, and now, the PSD has entered the government for a single reason: to develop Romania and to increase the standard of living of Romanians. Romania goes through a difficult time, but that does not mean that in order to overcome this moment, everything has been built in the last 10 years! A reform built on intuition, not on real evaluations in this model, the heavy ones fall on the most vulnerable: pensioners, mothers, employees on the economy, teachers, military and other social and professional categories.
He mentioned that the Social Democratic Party did not enter the government to “ignore the voice of Romanians, businessmen or local authorities.”
“We cannot accept an approach in which the essential investments in infrastructure and local development are renounced, largely in the advanced stage of execution, only to give good to the figures. It is taken without any analysis done together with all the factors involved ”, said Paul Stănescu.
He also stated that, at the same time, the PSD cannot accept that the PSD's coalition, USR and PNL attack partners, but have the social-democrats vote when it comes to assuming liability.
“In these circumstances, I think that a meeting of the coalition is urgently required to discuss the measures that affect more than the local administrations, public investments and vulnerable Romanians. And we must urgently decide in the party if we remain in government. The abuses, but will not confuse the responsibility with the austerity and the recession! ”, The Secretary General of the PSD said.
