A railway connecting Warsaw to an eastern region bordering Ukraine was damaged by an explosion on Sunday, and Polish officials now say Moscow was most likely involved, Reuters writes.
All indications are that Russian secret services ordered an act of sabotage that damaged a section of railway over the weekend, a spokesman for Poland's special services minister said on Tuesday.
The explosion that damaged a Polish railway line en route to Ukraine was an “unprecedented act of sabotage”, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Monday, vowing to catch those responsible for the incident.
According to information transmitted by Poland's public radio station, a train driver first reported irregularities on the railway line early Sunday morning near the village of Życzyn, about 100 km from the Polish capital, according to police in the central city of Radom.

The train braked before reaching the damaged section and no one was injured – there were two passengers and several crew members on board.
Tusk said Monday that the explosion “is an unprecedented act of sabotage aimed at the security of the Polish state and its citizens.”
“An investigation is underway. As in previous cases of this kind, we will catch the perpetrators, regardless of who supports them,” he said.
“This route is also used to transport weapons to Ukraine,” Tusk said in a video speech. “Fortunately, no tragedy occurred, but the legal implications are very serious,” he said.
