Yamal and Moscow scientists create a forecast map of permafrost for Salekhard. Experts study how soils respond to climate changes.
In the vicinity of Salekhard, nine wells with sensors drilled already, soon two more will be added to them. Data from sensors will be combined into a single system. In real time, they will go to the server for subsequent analysis.
“The development of a Geocryological map is a difficult but extremely important task. We strive to provide the builders and designers of Salekhard with a reliable tool for making justified decisions, ”said Alexander Shein, a leading researcher at the Cryosphere Sector of the Cryosphere GAU Yanao Yanao Center for Studying the Arctic.
The data obtained will allow you to make a forecast how the eternal permafrost will change over the next 25, 50 and 100 years, writes Yamal 1.
