The victim of the crime was a 53-year-old woman. The attacker was traveling on the same bus with her and noticed the large amount of jewelry she was wearing. Getting out of the transport, the man followed the victim and, making sure that no one was watching him, attacked her and tore a gold chain worth more than 130 thousand rubles from her neck. And when the woman tried to return her, he hit her on the head and disappeared.
Criminal investigation officers identified and detained the robber, and returned the chain to the owner.
The man apologized. However, the court found him guilty under Part 2 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and imposed a sentence of one year in prison to be served in a correctional colony. The police said that he had previously been convicted of property crimes.
