Known for his roles in the series “Chamed” and “Nip/Tuck”, Australian actor Julian McMahon died of cancer at the age of 56, in Florida, the United States, writes AFP.
“I want to inform the public that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died in peace this week, after a brave fight with cancer,” Kelly McMahon said on Friday in a statement to Deadline.
Born in 1968 in Sydney, Australia, Julian McMahon began his career as a dummy before orienting a television actor's career, first in his native country and then in the United States.
With green eyes and a grieving smile, he was especially noted to the general public in the late 1990s in the role of the Demon Turner in the Fantasy series “Chamed”, along with actresses Shannen Doherty, who died of cancer at the age of 53 in July 2024, Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs.
“I am devastated,” Alyssa Milan reacted on his Instagram account. “His loss seems unreal. Early. Too unfair. Rest in peace, my friend. I will keep your smile with me,” she added.

Julian McMahon became more noticed on the small screen and in the role of a seductive and unscrupulous cosmetic surgeon in the “NIP/Tuck” series, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination in 2005.
Created by Ryan Murphy and broadcast between 2003 and 2010, “NIP/Tuck” treated the topic of cosmetic surgery and its excesses in the United States, with scenes on hyperrealist operations.
“Warner Bros Television mourns the loss of our friend Julian McMahon, and our thoughts are with his family, friends, colleagues and fans,” a post on the official Facebook page of the series “NIP/Tuck.”
The actor also made some incursions into the cinema, especially in the “Fantastic 4” franchise, as well as in the B -series movie “The Surfer” with Nicolas Cage, which was presented at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2024.
“A deeply sad news. I spent six weeks working with Julian and he was an extremely talented actor,” Nicolas Cage told Deadline.
