To the beautiful architecture and rich history, Timișoara adds a lot of reasons to discover or come back and enjoy its recent transformation.
From June to September, the city is waiting for you at concerts and shows with great artists of the world, exhibitions of continental importance and a way to enjoy life specific to the capital of Banat. The campaign “Come for events, stay for the atmosphere”, of the organization Visit Timișoara highlights the cultural, creative and relaxed spirit of the city.
A summer as a festival
The summer season started spectacularly, with Bienala Art Encounters (May 30 – July 13), which transforms the city spaces into contemporary art galleries. Follow The Health FestivalR (July 3-7), the largest folklore festival in Europe, and Jazzx Festival (July 4-6), which brings to Victoriei Square Top International Artists, with over 25 Grammy Awards.
Ceau, cinema! (July 16-20) continues the series with European film screenings in unconventional spaces, and between August 1 and 3, Timișoara vibrates energy on the occasion of the biggest holiday weekend: City Daywith over 170 outdoor events, live music and tens of thousands of participants.
The summer ending brings Codru Festival (29–31 August), which combines music, nature, ecology and art in the middle of the forest.
An invitation to discover
“We want tourists to discover Timisoara at their pace – whether they come for a concert, an exhibition or simply for the city's atmosphere. Summer is the moment when the city breathes the most and most beautiful,” says Laura Boldovici, director of Visit Timișoara.
A campaign with international visibility
The campaign is active in both Romania and in key international markets: Germany, Italy, Austria, Hungary and Serbia. In Vienna, a 40 MP Billboard on the road to the airport draws attention to Timișoara as a city break. And through the partnership with a global payment processor, the campaign messages reach the foreign tourists directly.
The city as a scene
“Timisoara is not just a place where events happen – it is a city that lives. Every concert, projection or festival is just the beginning of a story that visitors discover step by step,” adds Laura Boldovici.
The campaign is supported by hotels, restaurants, shopping centers and the official souvenir shop – Souvenir Stion. After the year of European Capital of Culture, 2023, Timișoara continues to be a creative, friendly, living destination. Summer 2025 is a new opportunity to discover a inspiring city.
