The Alba Iulia Court of Appeal will decide next week whether or not to uphold the decision regarding the preventive arrest of the woman accused of killing her mother with the help of a nurse in order to inherit the fortune.
The woman filed an appeal against the measure of preventive arrest, a request that will be judged on January 8 at the Alba Iulia Court of Appeal.
“The file regarding the measure of preventive arrest of the woman from Sibiu investigated under the accusation that she killed her mother has reached the Alba Iulia Court of Appeal, which will resolve the defendant's appeal on 01.08.2026,” said the court's spokesperson, Cosmin Muntean, on Thursday, quoted by Agerpres.
As far as the nurse is concerned, she did not file an appeal.

The crime took place on the night of June 7-8, 2024 and was planned long before. The woman was helped by a nurse from the Guard Room of the Cisnădie City Hospital.
Sibiu prosecutors say that the daughter wanted the fortune of over one million euros, made up of several properties in Sibiu county.
“Regarding the inheritance, the investigations have not yet been completed. But at this moment we know that it is at least three buildings in Sibiu County, with a cumulative value of over one million euros,” said the chief prosecutor of the Judicial Section of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Sibiu Court, Dan Simion, for Agerpres.
According to him, the 38-year-old daughter put “sedatives from the benzodiazepine class or related to them” in her 59-year-old mother's tea. After the woman fell asleep, the daughter called the nurse who injected the victim with a sedative in the leg which caused her death.
“During June 2024, after having premeditated the act for a long time, a 38-year-old female person, benefiting from the help of a 46-year-old nurse, who procured her a large amount of substances with a sedative effect, slipped the substances into her mother's tea that she was consuming. The act took place at her home in Sibiu. After the 59-year-old victim fell asleep, the author called the nurse who was waiting for her, and then injected another quantity of a substance with a strong sedative effect into the victim's leg, enough to cause her death”, said prosecutor Dan Simion.
The nurse admitted “totally”, the deed, say the Sibiu prosecutors, while the daughter, only partially.
After the death, the woman's daughter was the sole heir. The daughter sold the inherited houses and went to Dubai, from where she returned to Sibiu this month, to sell a house, being caught by the investigators.
“The case of the woman's death was opened following information received by investigators,” explained prosecutor Dan Simion.
