Vladimir Putin told US President Donald Trump in a telephone conversation on Thursday that Moscow would not give up the goals she set for herself in the so -called special military operation, i.e. the war in Ukraine – informed Russian leader Jurij Ruszakov. The conversation lasted about an hour.

Reszakow reported after the interview, which took place in the afternoon that Trump raised the issue of ending combat operations as soon as possible. In response, Putin said that Russia is still looking for a political resolution of the conflict through negotiations – said Wydzakow, but he noted that, according to Putin, “Russia would strive to achieve their goals” and “will not give up these goals.”
These goals are “removing the original causes” of the conflict – explained Putin's adviser. Russia, speaking of such “original causes”, usually refers to the same arguments that in 2022 it justified aggression on the neighboring country.
Marking about possible negotiations, the Kremlin representative said that Moscow assumed that they would be double -sided, with the participation of representatives of Russia and Ukraine. Uszakow said that the content of the third round of conversations in Istanbul was not said.
According to Uszaków, the telephone conversation also concerned the situation around Iran. In addition, Putin wished Trump on the occasion of the American Independence Day celebrated on July 4. Putin expressed the opinion that “Russia played a faint role in establishing American statehood,” said Uszakov. (PAP)
