Henkel closes one of the factories in Poland. As many as 159 employees will dismiss

Henkel, a producer of brands such as Persil, Silan or Schwarzkopf, closes one of the factories in Poland. On Thursday, June 24, employees of the Racibórz plant were informed about plans to terminate its activities. Almost immediately they were asked to leave the plant – writes raciborz.naszemiasto.pl.
In an official announcement, Henkel emphasized that the decision was “difficult but necessary.” “The changing demand of consumers and the process of adapting the production network in Europe had a direct impact on the plant in Racibórz,” reads the company's statement. Production in the factory is to be extinguished by the end of November 2025.
Racibórz loses another large employer
Closing the German giant factory is another blow to the local economy of Racibórz. Only a few months ago, in February, the bankruptcy was declared by Rafako, releasing nearly 700 employees.
“I decided to transfer over PLN 700 million to the Industrial Development Agency. This money will help, among others, to help two Racibórz companies: Rafako and Rafamet. It is about new production start and permission to survive and develop these companies” – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk after the government meeting on April 29. Plans to switch companies to arms production were presented.
Everything indicates that the government will not help Rafako itself, but has created a new company that plans to buy assets listed on the company's stock exchange. We write more in this text.
Henkel remains in Poland
Despite the closing of the plant in Racibórz, Henkel emphasizes that Poland remains a key market for the company. The production will be continued in factories in Stąporków and Dzierżoniów, and marketing and sales activities will be carried out as before – writes raciborz.naszemiasto.pl.
Henkel has been operating in Poland since 1990, employing about 870 people. The company is present in two main business areas: Henkel Consumer Brands (washing agents, cosmetics) and Henkel Adhesive Technologies (glues and sealing). The leading brand brands include Persil, Silan, Schwarzkopf and Loctite.
Exemptions in Racibórz. Check -in packages and support for employees
Henkel ensures that the priority is to treat employees with “the highest respect”. The company promises severance pay and benefits that will exceed the requirements of Polish law, as well as support in search of new employment. “We want to help our employees go through this difficult period,” it was emphasized in the communiqué.
The concern also announces cooperation with the city authorities of Racibórz, employment offices and employee representatives to ensure the efficient completion of the plant's activities.
