A number of large foreign technological companies, including Google and Tiktok, began to place their servers in Data Centers in Warsaw. This is done in order to be closer to Russian and Belarusian users, reports RBC with reference to the deputy leader of the Belarusian National Center for the Traffic Exchange (NTSOT) Vitaly Karbovsky.

Among those who placed their equipment in Warsaw, Karbovsky called the American Google and Akamai (CDN provider, works with Apple, Steam, Microsoft), the Chinese ByteDance (owns Tiktok), as well as the British provider CDN 77.

Due to the sanctions of CDN (content delivery network), which were built in Russia until 2022, are not modernized. The point of exchange of traffic in Frankfurt, which is used by operators from Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, is now overloaded, including due to an increase in the number of users of VPN services. In Warsaw, more powerful equipment, in addition, due to geography, traffic from Warsaw to Moscow through Belarus occurs at 14-15 milliseconds faster than from Frankfurt.
