Spots on apples – not from the sun, not from the rain, but from one missing element: without it, the crop turns into torment

Have you noticed cork -shaped spots on young apples? This is not just a defect, but a signal that the tree lacks one important element. Without top dressing, the fruits can deform, and the leaves turn yellow, explains the channel “About the Garden and the Garden” on Dzen.ru (16+).

Dry, cork -shaped spots on apples are a sure sign of boron starvation. This is a fairly common problem, especially on any soils in dry years. Bor is a key element for the development of fruits, without it the apples crack, deform, and the tops of the leaves turn yellow or die.

The problem is aggravated by excessive lime of acidic soils, which blocks the absorption of boron. Symptoms: stains on the fruits hard, the leaves turn red, shoots weaken. It is impossible to ignore – the deficit of the boron reduces the crop and health of trees.

The solution is simple: top dressing by boron. Add dry boron or fertilizers with it into the soil. For a quick effect, spray apple trees with a solution of boric acid (1 g per 10 l of water). Do this in the evening so as not to harm bees. One – two treatments will save fruits and leaves.

Do not let boron starvation ruin the apple trees. Check the trees, feed them and enjoy a healthy harvest.
