Domestic retailers in the next two years will use AI / Economics of the Economics of Krasnoyarsk and Krasnoyarsk Territory / Newslab.ru

According to a study by IT Holding T1 and the Center for Expertise and Commercialization of the Skolkovo Foundation, conducted with the support of the TADVISER analytical center, more than 78 % of IT budgets in the retail market is concentrated in 51 tops of retail trade (with a revenue of more than 100 billion rubles).

Moreover, to a greater extent in the segments of the food retail, the sale of cars and spare parts. The most promising technologies in which domestic retailers are ready to invest are generative AI, augmented reality, digital doubles and warehouse robots.

“The vector of digital development of the retail industry today shifts towards hyperawomatization and intellectual tools: companies actively introduce recommendation systems, digital assistants, forecast analytics and software robots (RPA). This trend is also supported by the need to use omnichana technologies. Retail today remains one of the most active consumers of the latest technologies, including generative AI, while demonstrates a conscious approach to investment in the number: only those areas that are justified from the point of view of business development are budgeted, ”comments Dmitry Kharitonov, First Deputy General Director of IT Holding T1.

The survey data indicate a high level of digital maturity of large retail companies: in the current IT landscape there are all basic resource management tools, as well as specific industry solutions for retail. In particular, EDO and corporate content (ECM), analytics and reporting (BI), sales processing (POS), self -service cash desks, loyalty systems, demand forecasting systems, software robots, etc.

The level of automation in trading companies with a turnover of up to 100 billion rubles is slightly inferior to the segment of the largest companies, but it remains at a high level as a whole. Among the differences, one can name the smaller use of the self -service cash desk, loyalty systems, promotions and discount management tools.

At the same time, regardless of the size of the questioned company focus on the introduction of generative AI technologies, recommendation systems and digital assistants for the entire industry remains relevant, and in the case of large companies, it is also supplemented by large data analysis tools, as well as full -fledged digital doubles.

Import substitution does not at all acts as a priority for the industry: the actual level of replacement varies from the class according to: 47 % in the management of resources and business applications, 22 % in the IT and IB field, 20 % in office and communication software, and only 11 % in a specific industry. Only those systems are replaced, the use of which has become impossible or fraught with serious risks.

The demand for digital solutions in the retail sector is stimulated by the development of e -commerce and acute personnel deficiency directly. On the one hand, the desire for omnichanality makes the company invest in mobile applications and personalized marketing based on AI. On the other hand, the personnel deficiency stimulates the introduction of automation tools, as this becomes economically more profitable than manual operations.

In the future, 2 years, domestic retailers are focused on the introduction of solutions specific for retail: in the field of marketing and customer service and in the field of planning and forecasting. And also, as the survey is shown, on the introduction of hyperawomatization tools (including on the basis of large language models), letters of recommendation based on AI, digital assistants, large data analysis, automation of routine processes using software robots.

“The Skolkovo Expertise Center in Retail and E-Commerce, which has been working for more than 7 years, unites 600 companies with retail-solutions and experts in IT and FoodTech. We note the growing demand for the robotization of transport and warehouse logistics. Also, the most advanced players combine solutions to automation of processes and experiments with generative artificial intelligence, ”comments Pavel Novikov, managing director of the Center for Expertise and Commercialization of the Skolkovo Foundation (VEB.rf group).

At the same time, the average share of the IT budget in the largest companies of the classic retail is only 0.87 %of annual revenue, while the leaders of E-commerce are almost three times higher-2.89 %, in some cases 4 %. In general, according to Rosstat, the average indicator of IT costs is 0.67 % of the revenue, in other industries this figure in its median value also does not exceed 1.5 %.
