How a Romanian from England was surprised by the neighbors who complained to the police because he grills
A Romanian established in the UK has sparked viral reactions on Tiktok after surprising his neighbors doing exactly what had accused her of months ago: barbecue in the yard.

It all started in March, when the young Romanian, recently moved to a house in England, lit the barbecue in her yard. Although the gesture seemed banal, the British neighbors immediately called the police, accusing the smoke entered their yard and that the sparks could set their fence.
“We have denounced our neighbors to the police. The police have just left us and I want to tell you the reason: that we are barbecue …”, The woman said in a video clip published on Tiktok.
The police presented on the spot, but did not give any fine. However, she suggested to the Romanian and her husband to be more attentive and, as a solution of reconciliation, he recommended, ironically, to invite her neighbors to the barbecue.
Scandal resumed: Complaints and the other side of the Court
After the incident, the woman moved the barbecue to another corner of the court, but did not escape the complaints. Other neighbors complained for the same reasons: smell, smoke and spark.
“I put the barbecue on this part. And the neighbors from this part made us a complaint. The spark, the smell, the smoke also bother us.”She told Tiktok, where she documented the whole story.
Symbolic revenge: the same neighbors, the same barbecue
A few months later, the woman surprised her neighbors doing exactly what they had forbidden. One of them placed his grill near the fence, in the same place where the Romanian had first placed it.
“My neighbor is grilling and put it exactly next to my fence. I, when I grilled, put him there, in the first month when I moved. And he made me complaints to the police that the smoke entered the yard,” she said, as she filmed the scene.
Although he did not call the police, the woman decided to tell her online, drawing attention to the unequal treatment she was subjected to and suggesting that in the middle it could be racism.
Wave of reactions on Tiktok: support and indignation
The clips posted by the Romanian have become viral, gathering thousands of views and comments. Most users defended them and criticized the behavior of the neighbors.
Some have ironically suggested to call the police too “At least of form”and others shared experiences similar to excessively sensitive or intolerant neighbors.
Her revenge, though peaceful and symbolic, has aroused a wave of online solidarity, but also a discussion about cultural differences and prejudices that immigrants can face in the UK.
