Ciprian Ciucu, first vice-president of the PNL and the mayor of Sector 6, told Prima TV that if he will apply “ever” to the Capital City Hall he wants to be “elected for what I propose and for my vision, and not that I hide in the pants” to President Nicușor Dan, “as there are many others”.

Ciucu stated that during the period when Nicușor Dan was a general mayor between them there was “a dialogue on certain topics”.

“” I do not have a dialogue now, because he is president and I do not allow myself to disturb him, that, no, he is the president of Romania (…). It is an absolutely civilized relationship, but I do not want to do news and I want to be polite again (…), I respect the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, and I do not want to ” I would like to be chosen for what I propose and for my vision, and not that I hide in the pants of his reign, as there are many others who tend to do this.

Asked if this means that he does not need the “blessing” of Nicușor Dan to become the general mayor of the capital, the Liberal replied: “I need a relationship as correct as possible, on values and on assumed projects, that is why I need it.

“I think it's a relationship based on respect, but if I ever run for the Capital City Hall, for my self-esteem and what is going to happen in Bucharest, I need autonomy and I need people to vote for me, not because the President of Romania said, without any lack of respect, Me and my conscience, ”concluded Ciprian Ciucu.

Nicușor Dan resigned from the position of general mayor of the Capital after winning the presidential elections in May, and his duties were taken over by the liberal Stelian Bujduveanu until the organization of a local election.
