Radosław Sikorski warns the EU against escalation of Russia's actions. Ministers react

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski announced on Thursday in Brussels that the foreign ministers of the European Union countries took note of the information presented by him about the escalation of Russia's hybrid activities. As he emphasized, the ministers also expressed solidarity and support for Poland.
“Here, of course, full information flows through the service channels with allies, so that we can counteract state terrorism more effectively.” — said Sikorski after a meeting of EU foreign ministers, during which he discussed recent acts of sabotage on Polish railway lines.
The head of Polish diplomacy also pointed to the determination of member states to increase pressure on Russia. “In a number of speeches, the urgency of adopting a financial package for Ukraine for next year was emphasized and that the best option is the proposed reparations loan, thanks to which Ukraine would have stable financing for about three years,” Sikorski added.

Increasing the effectiveness of sanctions against the Russian shadow fleet
During the meeting in Brussels, the topic of sanctions imposed on the Russian so-called shadow fleet. Minister Sikorski pointed out that the EU should synchronize its “blacklist” of vessels with the American and British lists and strengthen the technical verification of these ships.
“Thanks to sanctions on the 'scrap fleet' and on Russian oil and energy companies, Russia has significantly less money to wage war in Ukraine. And here we must be consistent.”“- noted the minister.
Sikorski emphasized that a significant number of vessels subject to sanctions are older than 20 years, fly under a false flag or do not have one at all. “We cannot tolerate such anarchy on the seas” — he added. The minister recalled that discussions on strengthening the effectiveness of EU sanctions were one of the main topics of Thursday's meeting of EU foreign ministers.
