Russian airlines want to prohibit the establishment of their norms of handling of hand luggage

Senator Ayrat Gibatdinov introduced a bill to the State Duma of the Russian Federation prohibiting airlines to independently establish manual luminaires. The document is published in the Duma electronic database.
“The carrier is not entitled to independently establish standards for the weight and dimensions of hand luggage, including the total dimensions of hand luggage and things, which by aviation rules are allowed to transport in excess of the norms without charging additional fees that exclude the possibility of their free transportation,” the bill says.
The text of the explanatory note states that the implementation of the initiative will not entail the allocation of funds from the budgets of the budget system of the Russian Federation and will not lead to a significant increase in the cost of aviation transportation. The bill will affect exclusively on the unscrupulous abuse of carriers by the right to arbitrary establishment of dimensions of hand luggage.
We will remind, earlier the Shcherbinsky court of Moscow recognized the current standards for the size of the hand luggage established by the Victory Airlines and obliged to increase them.
