The shocking incident took place in a home in Braila, after a 68-year-old woman told her two sons that she intends to go to Spain, where one of them is. The announcement triggered a violent reaction from the older son.
According to Observatornews, the man was annoyed in place when he heard his mother's plans. Initially, he hit her with an object, then took a scissors and stabbed it 20 times.
Called 112 after attack
After the attack, the man closed the door and gate of the house, then alerted the authorities. The call to 112 was made by him, and the police and ambulance crews arrived quickly.
In order to intervene, the law enforcement were forced to jump the fence and break the door of the house. The doctors gave the woman the first care even in the house, then transported her to the hospital.
The woman was taken directly to the operating room. Doctors have managed to save her life, but her condition remains critical. She is currently admitted to the Intensive Care Section.
Aggressor son, detained for attempted murder
The woman's son was detained by the police and is to be presented before the judges with a preventive arrest proposal for attempted murder.
The incident comes just a few months after another tragedy in Braila. In March, a woman was deadly stabbed by her concubine. Following that crime, two children were left without a mother.
