US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he had discussed “about an hour and 15 minutes” with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, and that one of the topics addressed was Iran, which he accused of “delaying the decision” regarding the nuclear program.
“We also discussed Iran and the fact that time is running out of Iran's decision on nuclear weapons, which must be taken quickly! I told President Putin that Iran cannot hold a nuclear weapon and, in this regard, I think we agree. President Putin suggested that he will be in this question, and that he could go to Iran. It is that Iran has delayed making a decision on this very important matter and we will need a definitive answer in a very short time! ”, Donald Trump said in a Social Truth post.

Donald Trump, who mentioned that he had discussed with Vladimir Putin and about the Ukraine war, resumed his “maximum pressure” campaign on Tehran when he returned to the White House, threatening Iran with possible bombing if he does not conclude with the US to guarantee that he will not develop a nuclear weapon.
The US and Iran have held five rounds since April, in order to perfect an agreement to replace the one signed by Tehran with more world powers in 2015, which Trump abandoned in 2018, during the first term. According to AFP, there are still strong divergences about the possibility of Tehran to continue to enrich uranium.
On Saturday, Iran said he received the “elements” of the US proposal through the Omanese mediators, whose details have not been publicly disclosed.
“The proposal presented by the Americans is 100% against” notions of independence and self-sufficiency, “said the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamena, in a television speech, invoking the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.
“Independence means not to wait for the green wave from America and other countries similar to America,” added Ali Khamena.
Iranian uranium enrichment capacity is a major dispute. Donald Trump said on Monday that Washington will not allow “any” uranium enrichment, even though the Tehran insisted that it is his right under the Treaty of Nuclear Not Proliferation.
