Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities Kharkov and Herson caused at least five dead and over 20 wounded on Saturday night, after Moscow promised a “reaction” to destroying a strategic air fleet last Sunday. Three dead and at least 17 injured were registered in Kharkov, the second largest city in Ukraine, which suffered “the largest attack since the beginning of the war,” said Mayor Igor Terekhov.

Saturday's evolutions, day 1200 of the Ukraine War, LiveText:

US President Donald Trump said on Friday night that it has not yet been decided if he will apply sanctions against Russia that are taken into account by the US Senate.

The Senate analyzes a draft law that would impose hard sanctions to Russia, plus sanctions secondary to countries that trade with Russia – because of the Ukraine war.

“I have not decided if I will use them. I will use them if necessary,” Trump told journalists on board Air Force One.

In total, “at least 40 explosions” rang in a short time in Kharkov, the city of about 1.4 million inhabitants in northeastern Ukraine less than 50 km from the border with Russia, according to AFP.

“The enemy strikes simultaneously with rockets, shahed drones and guided air bombs,” said Mayor Igor Terekhov overnight, adding that the Russians have attacked at least 48 shahed drones and four guided bombs.

Two people were killed in the Kyivsky district and another person in Osnovyansky district, and about twenty were injured, he said.

A fifty -year -old couple also died in the attack that hit two buildings in the city of Herson in the South, according to the governor of the region of the same name, Oleksandr Prokudin. Two people were injured, as well as two others in the Dnipropetrovsk region of eastern Ukraine.
